These donations will directly impact the lives of rural Guatemalans. 100% of the contributions and donations to Light A Life are dedicated to these projects, which elevate the quality of human life.
Below you will find four different tiers for donations. $20 will purchase a pair of the "Shoe That Grows" for children. $50 builds a water filtration system to serve multiple families. $100 provides a Mayan cookstove to improve the cooking and breathing conditions of families and $600 builds a Hard Floored Family Home.

Partnering with Because International, Light A Life will use your donation to give The Shoe That Grows to a child in need.

VILLAGE WATER
FILTRATION SYSTEM
Water in Guatemala can be too dangerous to drink, not only for visitors, but locals as well. 5% of rural Guatemalan children will die before they reach kindergarten or first grade due to their poor conditions. The water crisis can be fought with your help.
This filtration system will serve multiple families and provide them with clean water.
CLEAN BURNING EFFICIENT COOKSTOVE
These clean burning stoves are a vast improvement over the primitive cooking pits that are too common within the rural regions of Guatemala.
Traditional open flame kitchens create hazardous fumes that are inhaled while cooking. These fumes produce about 40 cigarettes' worth of smoke per hour. Learn more on our "About Us" page about our life saving cooking method.
HARD FLOORED
FAMILY HOME
Many homes in Guatemala do not provide adequate shelter from the elements and routinely fall into disrepair.
The Hard Floored Family Home is a simple structure that is secure and capable of withstanding typical adverse weather conditions.
